Hope Orthopedics of Oregon seeks an experienced financial leader to oversee the functions of our revenue cycle activities. This position ensures maximization of cash flow while improving patient, physician and customer relations. This position will not only manage the daily function of the Business Office, but will also oversee the financial policies and the objectives of the organization’s revenue cycle activities to ensure it is effective and properly utilized. Responsibilities include:
•Manage the business office team (coders, patient financial accounts, accounts receivable, and surgical prior authorizations);
•Monitor and manage accounts receivable, billing, collections, and bad debt;
•Review and implement processes on pricing, billing, and collections;
•Develop, plan, organize, and implement current and future strategies to bill payers and customers, process payments, minimize bad debt, and improve cash flow;
•Responsible for the day to day billing operations including insurance verification, coding, billing, and revenue cycle processes with special attention to billing outcomes and coding performance;
•Manage the monthly OR reconciliation process to ensure that all procedures/operative cases are billed in a timely manner.
•Analyze month end reports and identify opportunities for work process improvements with respect to claims processes and patient billing issues;
•Ensure functional systems and continuing education on coding changes; and
•Ensure contractual compliance regarding reimbursements.
Our ideal candidate has:
•Strong background in healthcare financial management – a minimum of 4 years of medical billing office supervision, OR an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business and a minimum of 2 years of medical billing office supervision experience;
•EMR experience and electronic receivables systems processing (NextGen® preferred);
•Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, payer billing, collections regulations and management;
•Orthopedic specialty experience;
•Proven ability to work collaboratively with physicians, patients, co-workers and the public;
•Ability to maintain patience and composure when faced with challenging situations;
•Ability to pass background check;•Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to communicate in person, in writing and over the phone with patients, staff, providers, and external companies;
•Has experience in establishing policies, procedures and implementing training programs; and
•Is detail-oriented and organized with excellent time-management skills.
