The Oregon Clinic is looking for the next Director of Operations to run their Gastroenterology West and Radiation Oncology Clinic.

As the Director of Operations for Gastroenterology West and Radiation Oncology, you will be responsible for leadership, planning, delivery, evaluation and fiscal management of clinical services. You will provide operational management oversight at the clinic locations, act as a liaison for hospital issues, work with the Chief Operating Officer on marketing, contracting and TOC wide quality and satisfaction initiatives and supports physician recruiting and retention. The Director of Operations reports directly to the physician leadership in the divisions they support. Additionally, there is a dotted line reporting to the COO to ensure administrative consistency and sufficient clinic communication.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the clinical operations and human resource management, including managing and assisting first level supervisors, participating in physician recruiting and retention, and conducting performance evaluations of direct reports.

Responsible for strategic planning and financial management,including providing input to Controllers on budgeting.

Presents financial reports and product line profit/loss to the physician members of their divisions. Must work with practice management software reporting functions and become adept at extracting reports and manipulating activity/ production data.

Monitors the quality and service standards in the clinic(s) they serve.

Resolves patient complaints, conducting and reviewing patient satisfaction surveys and leading by example for all staff members located in their particular division.

Works closely with the Management Team on operational and personnel issues.

Performs annual and as-needed performance evaluations.

Acts as a hospital administration liaison to other TOC divisions and Central Administration, including working with Central Administration to ensure regulatory compliance on HIPAA rules, OSHA laws, Wage and Hour laws, Stark / Fraud Abuse and Medicare.

Supports physicians by assisting with annual goal setting, provides new staff and equipment when necessary, and helps with ancillary services.

Attends meetings, including monthly manager’s meetings, bi-monthly operations meetings, bimonthly board meetings and division specific physician meetings.

Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.Demonstrates and champions The Oregon Clinic’s mission throughout all the clinics they manage.Works to support their division and the greater good of the Clinic, always promoting goodwill between divisions and central administrative support departments.

Works on committees and projects that are outside of direct division responsibilities for the larger issues facing The Oregon Clinic,as assigned by the Executive Committee.

Satisfactorily performs other duties as assigned, including those specific to individual clinics.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience maybe substituted.

Ability to work with complex software and reorganize complex data into presentation format.

Minimum of five (5) years medical group practice experience required, with increasing responsibility in a supervisory / leadership role.

Ability to analyze, prepare and present financial andperformance related reports and projects to physician leaders.Has an entrepreneurial approach to expanding existing services and developing new opportunities forservices within divisions under control.

Ability to develop division procedures and protocols that enhance efficiency, safety and improve the quality and access of patient care.

Knowledge computer applications (CPO/scheduling, report writer, Word, Logician,Intranet, Outlook, Practice Management, and other division specific applications) to provide basic training as needed.

Strong analytical and organizational skills. Must understand the essential clinical activities for the division and measure, report and help remedy any identified problems.

Adept at fiscal management and human resource management practices.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to establish priorities effectively, successfully lead and motivate staff, problem solve and make decisions effectively.
