Practice Manager - Springfield, OR

We are an AAHA accredited veterinary emergency practice located in Springfield OR. We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced practice manager to lead our team to greater heights.

Details about us: we have two owners. Use DVMax software. There are 5 FTE DVM’s on staff and 3 part-times. We offer a supportive, learning environment and a team that strives to offer the best in care to pets and people. Salary range is $45-60 depending on your experience with a 45-50 hour work week. We feel the purpose of the role of a practice manager is to provide a constant, full time, and professional managerial presence in the practice. To provide knowledge based on both educational achievement and previous professional and personal experience that allows the successful candidate to steer our practice, using creative and analytical skills, to the highest degree of professional creating an outstanding place to work, a hospital that practices state of the art medicine, and a haven for even difficult clients.

Details about preferred candidate: At least 3 years management experience. If you have worked in an emergency practice, so much the better, but it is not required. What is required is excellent communication and people skills! 70-80% of the job will be working with employees or clients so these skills are of paramount importance. We would prefer a non-smoker. College degree required, preferably a business degree.

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to: staffing of the practice, general satisfaction of the team, making our hospital known in the community and beyond as an excellent place to work. Various bookkeeping duties – either actually performing or overseeing. Ad hoc projects will be included including marketing to the community and to referring veterinarians; internal forms and procedures; and participation in local community events to make our support known.

The Oregon Clinic (TOC) was founded in 1994 with the merging of six specialty groups. Since then, the organization has expanded to more than 100 providers who provide care from Vancouver to Salem, and from Gresham to Astoria. Due to their continued expansion, TOC is seeking a Director of Operations for a newly-acquired GI group.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for the clinical operations and human resource management of the GI Group, including managing and assisting first level supervisors, participating in physician recruiting and retention, and conducting performance evaluations of direct reports. Additionally, they will be responsible for strategic planning and financial management of the GI Group including providing input to Controllers on budgeting. Duties include presenting financial reports and product line profit/loss to the physician members of their divisions, monitoring the quality and service standards in the GI Group and resolving patient complaints. The Director of Operations will conduct and review patient satisfaction surveys and lead by example for all staff members located in their particular division.

The ideal candidate will possess solid analytical skills and an entrepreneurial approach to business. We are seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal skills and those with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
